With overall volume growth of 6%, coffee is having a positive performance in Cameroon and is becoming increasingly consumed throughout the country by everyone, rather than only at funerals as before.
Production is mainly smallholder with farms ranging from 0.5 to 3 hectars. The coffee is grown on the slopes of the mount Oku at altitudes ranging from 1700 to 2000 meters above the sea level. Being mainly smallholder, farming practices are rudimentary in Cameroon.
